«Vamos falar sobre Participação Juvenil, na Palestina» (Let’s talk about Youth Participation, in Palestine)

The Lisbon and Tagus Valley regional directorate of IPDJ (Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth) hosted, through Lisbon Youth Centre (CJL), the bilateral exchange activity «Vamos falar sobre Participação Juvenil, na Palestina» (Let’s talk about Youth Participation, in Palestine). 

Promoted by Dypall Network , a CJL partner, the initiative took place on 11 and 12 March, consisting of a conversation with two young women from Palestine, allowing them to learn about the mission and work developed by IPDJ and CJL, and, on the other hand, allowing us to learn to learn about the reality of youth participation in Palestine 

During the first day, they had the possibility of visiting the CJL facilities and sharing their experiences, as young people and youth workers, as well as learning about some of the good practices developed by this Centre and its partners within the field of youth. 

On the second day, they attended the Setúbal district session of the Young People’s Parliament Programme, and participated in a conversation with João Brás, a young volunteer, and Sónia Eleutério, from Setúbal IPDJ, to discover in which ways the «Navegas em Segurança?» programme advocates human rights and tries to combat hate speech and ciberbullying in Portugal. 

This inititative was held within the framework of the Local Youth Councils at International Scale project, which follows its main goals of supporting local youth councils and promoting the exchange of good practices and experiences between youth workers.
