"Eu Sou Digital" Youth Volunteering

Collaborate in empowering elderly populations to navigate and use essential digital services safely.

10/01/2022

The urgency of digital empowerment of the Portuguese population, so that everyone can be closer and have access to the same opportunities and services, is the essence of EUSOUDIGITAL, a programme that aims to combat isolation, make the Portuguese easier in their daily lives, giving them the basic foundations so that they can navigate, search and access essential services safely, saving time and money.

Therefore, the Portuguese Institute for Sports and Youth, I.P. (IPDJ), in collaboration with the National Youth Council (CNJ) and the National Federation of Youth Associations (FNAJ), joined this project to promote intergenerationality and digital literacy with the support of the younger generation.

For this, young people aged 16 to 30 can sign up as mentors for the EUSOUDIGITAL Centre of the Lisbon Youth Centre, through the Youth Volunteering project "Let's teach digital skills to those who need it most", to help adults in the community to take their first steps on the Internet.

In the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, people interested in learning how to use the Internet, search for information online and create their digital identity can count, from January 21st, on the help of young mentors to learn how to navigate in the digital world, not only at the CJL but also at the Loja Ponto JA in Santarém.

Young people interested in participating as mentors should take the following steps:

  1. Register in IPDJ's Single Data Base, filling in all fields and put the documents relating to the taxpayer and Bank Identification Number;
  2. Make the application on the IPDJ platform programs here.

More information through the following contacts:

Soon, in the region of Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, we will announce another EUSOUDIGITAL Centre, to be implemented in Loja Ponto JA de Setúbal.

Stay tuned!
